AGM & Committee
We are a small and friendly Committee run by parents of
current and previous Seals Members. During the AGM 2011, we gave a comprehensive
insight into the future strategy for swiming standards, sessions and competitiveness. The funds held by Seals, and the breakdown of spending required along with
progress made in our endeavours towards gaining the Swim
21 Accreditation were also discussed.
Each and every committee member has their own job description. We welcome any parent,
grandparent or friend who would like to help us (not necessarily as a Committee
member) and if you feel able to offer your help, do please speak to one of
us. Needless to say you would be welcomed with open arms!

Special Committee Meeting 2nd November 2010
Retirement of Howard Godwin Head Coach,
Future Club Strategy
& Centenary Year 2011
For the past 14 years we have been very fortunate to have had Howard Godwin as the Saffron Walden Seals Swimming Club Coach. He has expertly guided many 100’s of young people from the town and surrounding villages through the requirements of competitive swimming. It is therefore sad to report that Howard is going to retire from the club from January next year.
Howard's commitment has been exemplary running 8 hourly sessions every week with ranging swimming skills from new competitive to experienced competitive swimmer. He has encouraged many of the members to follow in this footsteps to become teachers & coach’s of future generations. As a club we will miss him very much and wish to publicly thank him for his many years of support.
A special committee meeting was called to discuss the strategic direction of the club following Howard's departure. Also to discuss the opportunities to celebrate the club's centenary year in 2011. The presentation, strategy and actions discussed can be downloaded below.
