Centenary Year Diary
SWASC Saffron Seals held a number of events throughout the year to celebrate their 100th year. It has been a thoroughly packed year.

AGM was held at Lord Butler Leisure and fitness Centre.

Friday 25th March 2011
Local Quiz Night: SWASC Saffron Seals put together a team and came 4th.

Saturday 26th March 2011
2.30-4.30pm Afternoon Tea in the Town Hall. Please do look at the bottom of the page where you can see some of the photos of the day. You can also download panels from the exhibition, see if there are any faces you can recognise.

Saffron Walden Carnival
SWASC had a float and Members dressed up in historic bathing costume style. See some of the photos on the home page.

Saffron Walden Carnival
Fun Relay Gala was held at Lord Butler Leisure and Fitness Centre. in teams competitors competed in fun relays, such as egg and spoon relay - not the usual rules! Walden Tripe team won, please see the photo on the home page.

Saturday 12th November 2011
Centenary Gala
SWASC invited 2 other local swimming clubs to join us for a friendly gala at LBLFC. We hope to have 2 squads running this evening. Saffron Seals Yellow Squad won the event. Click here to go to the results page where you can read more details and downlaod the final results.

S.W.A.S.C. Saffron Seals Centenary Year
In November 2011 SWASC, affectionately now known as Saffron Seals, will have been in existence for 100 years.
Below is one of the first photos we have of the club back in 1911. We held an Afternoon Tea on March 26th in the Town Hall to display many of the past photos that have been found and kindly lent to us. A Fabulous Final Centenary Celebration
Invitation Gala 12th November 2011
To round off the fabulous season of celebration SWASC hosted a celebration gala at LBL&FC followed by a short centenary celebartion in the Sports Hall. There were many raesons to celebrate...

New diving blocks
After much fundraising SWASC has been able to purchase 5 new bespoke diving blocks. They were officially opened at the Centenary Gala on November 12th, with races consisting of ex-Members and coaches from the club.

November 12th saw a fabulous celebration following the Centenary Invitation Gala, we were joined by the Mayor and Mayoress of Saffron Walden, Cliff and Val Treadwell. There was a wonderful Centenary Cake, cut by the Mayor.
