What a Water Polo Swimmer thinks ...

Water polo - not only is it a great game to play, it is also a good exercise for fitness. It’s good fun for everyone who wants to have a go at it. The training is just as fun as the game itself with many different skills to learn. Who knows, you might be able to show off to your friends one day. With each session we have a game between the group, goals are scored and saved with some great manoeuvring and passing not be forgotten. Tackling is also great fun. A contact sport that leaves a lot of skill for a decent tackle to take place and to win the ball. With the effervescent atmosphere no one will feel left out and will have a great time.

LBL&FC News 5th February 2010
We have just received an update from Phil Wallis on the pool situation in that the engineers are on site currently retiling the pool walls and floor at this moment. As it currently stands, LBF&LC are aiming for a reopening around mid March.

I have spoken to Phil Wallis (LBL&FC Business Manager) today to clarify the latest pool problem.

Unfortunately an area of about 50 tiles has "bubbled up" at the deep end of the pool. Engineers using scuba equipment will be assessing the problem with a view on what action to take i.e. local repair using plasticised sheeting or full repair requiring the emptying of the pool. If it is the foremost then the repair will take two weeks, if the latter the pool could be out of action until March 2010.

As soon as I have any further news I will let you have it.

In terms of swimming times continue at the Friend School as before but no swimming on Tuesdays.

REPLACEMENT LBL&FC SESSIONS
Monday 17.15 to 18.15
Wednesday 20.30 - 21.30
Friday 18.15 - 19.15, 19.15 - 20.15, 20.15 to 21.15.
Howard has found it a struggle to get to Friends School on Fridays for 6.15pm, so sessions will start at 6.30pm.
From Friday 5th February sessions at Friends School will run from the following times 6.30, 7.30, 8.30.
